The Conservation Commission presently consists of six voting members, two Tree Wardens, and seven associate members. Meetings are held at the Town Office and on Zoom on the 1st Wednesday of every month, except for the month of July. Please check the Town’s website landing page for meeting times and agendas.
Current responsibilities include: Educating the community regarding conservation ballot items, recycling, and habitat conservation. Consulting with the Planning Board concerning buffering and Land Use issues. Stewardship of the Charlotte Rhoades Park, Butterfly Garden, Chris' Pond Park, and the SW Harbor Veterans Park. Working with the community on new tree plantings and care of Town street trees, and special conservation projects such as the Monarch Tagging Program. The Commission is looking for new members or associates who would be willing to help with any of our current responsibilities. No experience required, just an interest in preserving our Town's natural resources. Please call the Town Office at 244.5404 if you are interested. Revised 11.09.2023 |
